![]() I too don’t want people especially eBay sellers taking he image and selling/distributing it to those that don’t own units which I why although I thoroughly documented how to do the patch if you already have a working key (for Force), I never documented the key generation encryption/decryption code. Maybe there are games that were licensed and missing from newer versions? I don’t know myself but I heard people say certain years had games that were not in later years, not sure if it’s true as I don’t know all the games that were in each year offhand. Why would people want to run ion and force in the same hardware? Not sure myself I but I imagine some people like the older versions. Not sure what you mean in regards to the usb update mechanism?ĭo you mean how did I get access to the system/os/jailbreak? If so I just booted into single user mode from the grub boot loader to get root then reset the password and enabled networking and ssh so I can work from my desktop. If he doesn't I"ll return back to it when I'm done some other projects and fix it up. right now I have a bunch of other stuff I need to finish up first. I'll send the info to the guy that's kindly been doing all those Key of Death "back ports" to older Force hardware and see if he's interested in fixing it. That said if the code looks anything like it does in ion, the force patch would also be trivial by patching the main game binary. Patching force will be a little different as I think they do the USB IO board comms completely different than ION. The patch simply intercepts that specific USB call to hardware and fakes a "True" response from the hardware. No calls were made from the main "Start" binary to said function, It was odd, the main game binary exported a function call to the other shared libraries that did a differnt USB call to the hardware, which returned "yes or no". Yes reproduced the bug, learned how to play tri-towers (didn't realize that the last card you took is your next card!) much better when you know that.įound the bug, fixed the bug (in ION) again no need to patch binary in this case. ![]()
